Instructions and Teaching Teachers and Children "How to Write" on the Paper is What Makes our Program Successful!
Introducing the only paper* that comes with an instructional manual. Actual teaching occurs with the specifics on how to write on this paper. Children require specific, individualized instruction on how and where to form and place letters on the writing paper. The rhyming verse is a fantastic means to help ingrain in them some of the basic writing rules and where all tall, short, and dipping letters start and stop. Also, what is unique about the WMS program is that at an early age and through other modes, we expose children and want them to identify the tall (Harry Head Line Letters), the short (Sherry Shoulders Line Letters) and the Terry Toes Line Letters. The WMS instructional pad for parents, teachers, and therapists is a fun program that includes a writing warm-up of exercises, a great rhyming verse, and the PopsicleTM stick for guidance with spacing in between words!
The teacher, parent, or therapist gives the child clear guidance as to exactly where to START and STOP all uppercase and lowercase letters. Our "Side-Line Friends" stay on the Side-Line and "man" their posts so there is never any confusion about where to start and stop all letters! Again, our multisensory approach is what is helpful for many children. Harry Head stands TALL at the top writing line, Sherry Shoulders is on the dashed line, Barry Belly is on the bottom writing line and Terry Toes line keeps kids in line and makes sure that only the g, j, p, q, and y are allowed in her writing line. So, the next step after children can form and write all their letters appropriately is that they can transition to writing words and sentences on this neat paper!
Sizing, spacing, and alignment on a writing line is no longer a problem. Use the clear PopsicleTM stick with the cropped kids for proper spacing in between words. Read the rhyme while learning to use the paper; you're in for a great time! The super seven writing rules will also help children remember the basics when writing. Transitioning to classroom paper is a breeze and can be done with ease after children learn how to use the paper!
